Tasmania has the most mountainous landscape in Australia, although not the highest peaks.Mt Ossa is the highest at 1617m Cradle Mountain and Mount Wellington are the most famous. There are many lakes in the central highlands and the famous Lake Pedder in the south west, many of the lakes have hydro eclectic power stations. The Southwest is one of the most rigged and inaccessible places in the world and is virtually unpopulated. The North and east coasts have more arable farm land and beautiful beaches. The climate is cool temperate with warm summers and cool winters, as we are in the roaring 40s the weather can change quickly and we even have occasional summer snow falls although Hobart has recently had its hottest dat on recors 41.8 degrees c.

Tasmania has lakes, mountains, wild rivers, amazing beaches with no-one on them, great hiking trails, dense impenetrable forests, remarkable wildlife, friendly people and, in Boags and Cascade, two of the best breweries in Australia.
